"The state of your life is nothing more than a reflection of the state of your mind." – Wayne Dyer.
I believe in the paradigm that our external world mirrors our internal state of mind. This means that if my internal world is filled with disorganized turmoil of thoughts, so too will be my external world. Our Life is a representation of our thoughts. Consider this: when was the last time you watched a sunset? If the answer is negative, it may indicate the turmoil within your internal mind.
Many of our problems and struggles stem not from our environment or circumstances, but from within. The other day, I heard someone say, "Are you struggling to get dates? Maybe that's because something inside of you wouldn't date yourself either."
We're not often taught to think internally in this way. When faced with struggles or chaos, we tend to ask, "Why is this happening to me?" Instead, we should ask, "What within my internal world caused me to perceive this problem in this particular way?" "Why am I struggling with money?" Instead, we should ask, "Has my relationship with money always been negative?" "I don't have time!" Instead, we should inquire, "Why don't I keep a record of my time, like many millionaires do?"
In my observation, the individuals who excel in the external world often possess rich internal worlds filled with mindful moments, and I truly admire them for it. I admire those who take the time to appreciate the little things in life, as it speaks volumes about their internal state of mind. Being mindful and finding joy in the simple pleasures—like the warm first sip of coffee, the sensation of warm grass beneath your feet, the first bite of a meal, the warmth of sunshine amidst traffic, or the gentle waves of the ocean at your feet—is truly admirable. I admire them for their ability to pause amidst the busyness of life and say to themselves maybe “I’ll just enjoy this golden sunset for a moment.”
