What 1500 km of Coastal Riding Taught Me

Another trip, another adventure! This time, my cousin and I set off on a 1500 km coastal ride from Kerala to Goa to all the way back. We met a lot of people, saw stunning landscapes, and tasted variety of foods. As every other trips.

The more trips I take, the more I realize there’s so much more to explore. like with every book I read, I realize there is so much more to learn. Likewise, the more I work on myself, I realize the easier life becomes. Being able to go on trips like these and taste the lessons of life itself is a blessing.

A lesson that I learned from my observation is that life's meaning is always subjective to a certain degree. When people from all walks of life tell me about their journeys, it’s clear that "you" are the one who gives meaning to the experiences, circumstances, and events that you encounter.

Most often our mind uses this framework:-

"When you don't like something or someone, your mind goes looking for reasons to hate it. When you like something or someone, your mind goes looking for a reason to like it." Similarly, "When you try to bring somebody closer to you, you try to see even their flaws as advantages. And when you're trying to get rid of someone, even their good qualities are seen as flaws."

It's human nature to think like this. It’s hard to unlearn the very things that we believed in for years, but it is also the kindest thing that one can do for themselves. They say the number one thing that will save you in this life is your attitude. The attitude or meaning that you choose to give your life determines the way life chooses you.

When I look back at this particular trip, it only screams back at me saying, you have to keep evolving and recreating yourself. Read, explore, discover, learn new things, and expand your mind. You shouldn't be who you were last week. Create new habits and consistently upgrade yourself in all ways and on all levels. I'm glad I did this trip, despite what people said.
